Markets Consulting, LLC (MC, LLC) provides clients with advice, research and expert testimony on issues involving market power in the wholesale electric and natural gas markets. Bruce McConihe, Director of MC, LLC, has over 30 years experience as an expert witness before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulatory bodies, and she has advised clients on a variety of litigation and regulatory matters including antitrust and special research topics.
MC, LLC also provides market power analyses in connection with the electric power industry relative to the acquisition of generation assets and requests for market-based rates for wholesale sales of electric power. In connection with requests for market-based rates, FERC requires implementation of two structural analyses based on the Commission's "Order on Market-Based Rates for Wholesale Sales of Electric Energy, Capacity and Ancillary Services by Public Utilities," issued June 21, 2007.1
In addition, MC, LLC provides expert testimony and research in connection with requests for market-based rates for natural gas hub services and for natural gas storage services in both the production and market area regions of the country.
MC, LLC is certified as a woman, minority-owned business enterprise. Ms. McConihe holds a BA in Economics from Connecticut College and an MBA from George Mason University. She is the author of several research papers concerning mergers, regulation and transmission issues.
